On Aug 18th, Josh and I ran the Muddy Buddy race in Boulder, CO. It rained for 3 days before the race, so it was the muddiest race we have ever done! There were parts of the race where our bike was so muddy the front wheel wouldn't turn (that made for a long uphill climb). The race is about 6 miles long, and you and your partner switch between riding and running about every mile or so. At each switch, there is an obstacle to complete (climbing wall, balance beam, bump-n-jump, etc.), then you finish together by army crawling through a mud pit (converted volleyball court) and race to the finish line. What a great day (could have been a little warmer though).
They also had a mini muddy buddy with obstacles for the kids and then they could go through the mud pit- we were bummed that we missed the pictures of Jacob in the pit!
