This year's garden

Well, I haven't been quite so excited about my garden this year - I looked at pictures from the first year, and it was so weed free compared to this year. This year I have decided to give up all together on ever growing peas, as the birds find the little sprouts just as they peek out of the ground and eat them!! I have discovered that the birds do not care for tomato, potato, broccoli, or arugula leaves - success! My spinach and arugula are done for this year, but the potatoes are blooming and the tomatoes have small fruit :) I can't wait for fresh tomatoes, and basil - my favorite! The broccoli grew from seed - I'm hopeful that it will be ready before it gets too hot (they say it is a cool season veggie, I guess I'll find out), and we must have dropped a few broccoli seeds because I have a few volunteer plants coming up :)
