Track meet!

The city has a all ages open track meet every so often, so tonight we tightened up our velcro and felt the need for speed. A week ago, I asked the kids if they wanted to go to the track meet, and Libby said yes. Jacob promptly said "She can't run fast!". I said, "How do you know?". He answered, "Mom, she runs like an ewok!".

Jacob signed up for the 50m, 100m, and 200m (took 2nd place - boys 6-7 years); while Libby did the softball throw, 50m, and 100m. She was also recruited for the 200m as there was only one other little one signed up (usually the limit is 3 events). She was so funny because she had to take a break after the 1st 100m, but she crossed the line and earned a second place ribbon :) She took 1st in the softball throw - girls 3 years and under, and third in her 50 and 100m races. Looks like running like an ewok proved to be not so bad after all.
